Do you know who Sir Richard Branson is?  You probably do; he's the billionaire entrepreneur behind the Virgin brand, a name which most recently has made headlines for its highly ambitious Virgin Galactic spaceflights.  Well, Mr. Branson recently stopped not too far from the ICON Miami Beach condo over at the Mondrian and it wasn't necessarily to plug his latest ambitious effort.

Twenty five years ago, Virgin Atlantic's first flight arrived right here in South Florida, all the way from London.  Since then, over four million people have used the airline which focuses on offering competitive and a “fun” experience.  Although the majority of passengers are largely from the UK, chances are some current and former residents of the ICON South Beach may have traveled on the airline at some point.  Since its original flight, the airline now flies to thirty additional destinations, most recently Cancun.

The ICON condo may also have a new Virgin sibling in the form of a hotel.  Sure enough, Virgin Hotels is already underway and a site within Miami Beach is already being planned with construction to begin within twelve to eighteen months.
